I love Hekker, but I hope it is a real competition with Bojorquez... At this stage in his career I think he needs it. He admits he was subpar in 2020. The Rams need him to be a top-3 punter in 2021. His cap number is 40% more than the next-highest paid punter (Dickson in SEA).

Totally agree. Sentimental favorite but he was a real disappointment last year. I kept waiting for him to regain his form and boom some punts but it just rarely seemed to happen. Seemed like a totally different player out there and I never heard anything about an injury or anything.

Maybe Hekker isn't so good under pressure? I don't know. But the Rams really needed him to show up more last year because of the struggles on offense and he really wasn't a difference maker anymore. So, maybe with the offense getting back on track, he will too? But as you say, paying big money to JAG isn't going to last long.
