On the one hand Stafford should have a prolific year for sure, I’m guessing in that 5000 yard area.
But OTOH I think that McVay is gonna want that ball sprayed among his top 5 WR’s. IOW, I think McVay will want to see lots of targets for DJ (if healthy) and a generous number for Tutu, as well. A sorta shotgun approach to drive D’s nuts? It could get insane.
I also predict that our TE’s are gonna love being more included in Stafford’s targeting. Stafford loves throwing to his TE’s.
As to Akers/Hendy rushing totals? I foresee 1500+ combined with the lions share going to Akers, but I don’t think McVay will totally neglect Hendy. Might be even more yardage rushing if Rams are playing with a decent late lead, as expected. Would be smart to burn clock with a running game at that point.
In short, I predict a VERY varied O with the talented Stafford orchestrating 5 dangerous WR’s, 2 TE’s, and 2 quality RB’s used extensively to wear out a D. This O might be able to remind us of those GSOT versions in terms of ability to light up a D and convert 3rd and longs.
Yeah, you could say that I’m really optimistic.
