Declaring the draft a bust before the season is too extreme in my opinion. These aren't 1st round picks who should be expected to start immediately. These are mostly developmental players. Atwell and maybe Ernest are possible "impact" players to some degree... if the Rams get anything out of the rest that would be a bonus.

Perhaps we've been spoiled over the last several drafts. There was a time when the 3rd round and later meant low percentage chance to develop into contributors. The Rams have done a solid job drafting lately... why this year is believed to different is confusing to me.

Also inexplicable is how someone can say the Rams passed up talent to draft players they could have gotten later or shouldn't have drafted at all. Exactly how do these fans know this? Not saying they are wrong, I just don't understand why they feel the rams scouting dept and Send/McVay are incompetent. There is little precedent for this.

3 years is about right, IMO. Just a few years ago some were pegging Gaines to be starting his rookie season.
