I suspect Eskridge could have worked for them too since they spent a bit of time with him but he had just been selected the previous pick. Maybe they didn't want to risk missing out on both. If they have a 2nd round value on them, it's better to not play games.

Remember all the criticism when they traded down and missed on Wagoner? Sometimes it's just better to take your target.
