My first feeling was they wanted Eskridge too but then I saw this Jourdan Rodrigue tweet:

New Rams WR Tutu Atwell had a lot of calls with the Rams, especially receiver coach Eric Yarber, who he says told him “don’t be surprised if we don’t let you fall out of the second round.”
If the WR coach is telling him they may pick him in the 2nd, it doesn't mean they didn't want Eskridge more, but it does mean that they had a 2nd round value on him. If a player is told something like that in advance, chances are he's the target.
