Is that the guy has to measure up vs the other options. Otherwise the Rams are gonna do what they've always done in taking shots on lesser options later in the draft. This article goes to great extent to discern a "type" for the Rams from guys they were just taking a shot on.
Which is a poor approach IMO.
Fact is we changed to a Fangio system last year but didn't have the opportunity to draft an ILB like Uche because they needed to retool the offense in response to the loss of Gurley and Cooks. Also in general the guys who have the ability to fill downhill but also switch it up in coverage are really hard to find. Those guys don't usually last until late second round when our draft starts, there's not enough of them so supply/demand kicks in.
This year there is a chance one of them gets to us and if they're graded highly enough by the Rams they'll be in play. It's that simple IMO.
