Fans are going to be shocked at how good Stafford is in this offense I think.
When the reports first surfaced of our interest in him my take was "whatever." In my mind Stafford was still that younger-ish guy who got drafted high and never really accomplished anything. But after the trade was made and I got off my rear end and actually crunched some of his film I saw a QB who has achieved that level of mastery we were hoping Goff would get to.
Assuming they solve center here. That is important to maximize this trade's impact. But either way we are going to see an enormous upgrade in pre-snap blitz and pressure recognition. We are going to see an enormous upgrade in getting through reads and anticipating what defenses are doing on the back end. And we are going to see a QB who is at that mastery level at his craft settle into an offense that sets him up for success.
I'm talking Super Bowls and MVP hardware. That's what's in the future IMO. This will go down as one of the best additions this franchise has ever made, right up there with Marshall Faulk. And the irony looking back will be that so many Rams fans didn't see it coming due to Goff baggage.
