Russ' passes look like what my HS DB coach used to call "sand-balls." Those are balls that seem to travel a tick slower than what he called "darts", and the sand-balls are much easier to catch. I guess the spiral on a sand-ball isn't as tight as it is on a dart. In practice, he was right: it was much easier to grab and hold on to a sand-ball. Catching a dart was like trying catch a pointed brick.
Coach had 3 terms: sand-balls (he always said catching one was like catching a small sack of sand - easy to hold on to), darts, and sidewinders.
NFL examples of these would be:
Sand-ball: Russell Wilson, Jared Goff (at times), Eli Manning, Steve Bartkowski
Dart: Matt Stafford, Tom Brady, Jameis Winston, Terry Bradshaw
Sidewinder: Kurt Warner, Philip Rivers, Jared Goff (at other times), Fran Tarkenton
