This is like "well yeah, the guy did win the 100 meter dash, but he just doesn't fit the height and weight standards for a sprinter".
You are not going to be #1 in the NFL if an entire position group is subpar. It defies logic.
No, they're not stellar. But I think the Rams' system uses ILBs only for limited purposes. Besides, probably their best prospect that was slated for a starting role last year was lost in preseason and missed the entire year. So his return alone probably upgrades the unit somewhat.
This issue is exaggerated.
