Child abuse and sexual assault/harassment has always carried a certain assumption of guilt until proven innocent. The reason for that is most occurrences of both are unreported so once a case actually does arise it must be given special attention. The #MeToo movement is an effort to get greater investigation of such charges to determine validity. But usually where there is smoke there is fire.
