Biadasz was taken 10 spots after Hopkins and would be in a prime position to start for the Rams this year, moving on from Blythe and really giving the Rams flexibility at the top of the draft.
Don't get me wrong, I had Hopkins as my #1 TE last year, so I obviously love the pick. But man, Biadasz would be such a nice pc to the puzzle right now. And since Hopkins was drafted when the Rams were at least 2 deep at TE last year meant he was drafted with the future in mind. There would have been nothing wrong with drafting Biadasz with the future in mind.
Well, yes and no, Dead.
Biadaz wouldn’t have played last year, either, but I agree that he might have been a decent starter this year. Might. Depends how much he would have developed in ‘20 without getting snaps here.
Meanwhile, although Hopkins didn’t play in ‘20 either, I believe that he was drafted a year early to replace Everett whom I think Rams already knew would be leaving this year.
Probably no ‘wrong’ answer for the Rams in the Hopkins/Biadasz choice, really. Both would have been ‘next year’ picks, I think.
Again though, I really like those ‘20 picks Akers through Anchrum. All but 2 still looking like good value choices.
