As for Suh: the issue was not whether he was good, but whether he would fit in the locker room. And BTW, it sure wasn't Suh that got us over the hump and in the Superbowl. He had a pretty mediocre year.
JJ Watt can't and hasn't stayed healthy for years. And we're not talking about pulled muscles. We're talking serious injuries with long rehabs and unpredictable outcomes.
Bad fit.
Um, ask AD about Suh's impact. There's a reason Donald had 22 sacks that year so year I'd say that his presence was a big reason our D was very good and we got to the Super Bowl.
JJ had some injuries and surgeries but has recovered from them and this is seen by the fact that he has played in 16 games two out of the last three seasons.
Is it a risk? Sure. But you take those chances when you're talking about a generational talent such as Suh or JJ especially if you can do it on a 1 year contract. (The transcendent talent is why I brought Suh up btw.)
