16 teams need a QB or put differently, Goff is better than 16 incumbents out there.
He may not be worth a 1st but he is worth something to teams out there. It was reported there was interest.
What I am saying is that whatever they get for Goff, they would have had to add right into the package for Stafford and no guarantees they win it.
The way Snead did it is a sure thing assuming both pass their physicals.
What the HECK is going to happen if the deal becomes off because one of them doesn't pass??
It's debatable whether he's better than 16 incumbents out there. Opinions are all over the place but some have stated that he is a bottom third QB. But I will grant that are several times who would consider him an upgrade.
However, the big issue is not Goff's talent, it's his contract. Same with Wentz. There may be many teams interested in their talent but likely only a few interested enough to take on their contracts and give up draft compensation.
There was interest but we have no idea if that's "I'll give you a 4th" versus "I'll give you a 1st" interest.
It would be a disaster if one of them didn't pass their physicals.
