Seven is retired
Waterfield?
How the heck is 13 not retired if 80 and 28 are?
50 games man. Thats only 3 seasons. You don't get your number retired with that.
Bruce is a life long Ram. He is blue and gold all the way through.
Faulk is an all time great who played 6 seasons for the Rams. Twice as much as Warner.
Heck, Warner doesn't even consider himself a Ram. He roots for the Cards before us. You don't retire that guy.
oh boy, here we go again with the he's not even a Ram stuff
I didn't say hes not a Ram. HE said he doesn't consider himself a Rams more than a Cardinal. I'm not a big unrequited love guy. Buy, hey, you want to love the guy, knock yourself out. Warner is not even remotely close to my favorite player who played for the Rams. I need the guy to think of himself as a Ram first and foremost.
You want a homer, you may also knock yourself out. I don't really care if Warner gushes about the team a decade after he's gone. I care about the facts that he won 2 MVP's, a SB and a SBMVP while he was actually on the field. I don't care who his wife is, his politics or his religion. Just what he did for the Rams.
And he was the QB of the best offense the league has ever seen, made the team dominant, not to mention relevant and led them to their ONLY Super Bowl title. I don't care if that was done in 3 years or 13 years. He did it and as the first one to do so for a historical bride's maid and never a bride franchise, he should have his number retired. Long time fans understand just how difficult a SB trophy is to accomplish. Being the QB of the first and only time it's happened means a LOT.
Warner's legend isn't about longevity. He was all about the high points. Never has a Ram done more for himself or the team IMO. The need to retire his number in front of 90,000 at SoFi on a MNF game in front of millions. His celebration is long overdue.
