To compare Goff and Brees is hard for me to do. Rather, I see them as a contrast.
Brees is an all time great and who was good from the beginning. He didn't regress, become average, and then suddenly blossom.
Goff's first couple of years were his best and he has regressed ever since.
The leap from Goff-like to Brees-like is so large that at this point in his career it is pretty hard to imagine.
Yet, I wish him the best.
might want to go back and look at Brees career stats, Rock.... Goff has has a much more successful career in his first 5 years compared to Brees in just about every category
Brees didn't really become a consistent and great QB until his 8th or 9th year......and has one Super Bowl appearance in 15 year career
Pocket passers especially are not set and developed in year 5. I have no idea where this year 5 myth comes from--that you are who you are forever by year 5.
You mention Brees. Well how many bad games did Stafford have in his 5th year? I will say that in 2013 a bad game is one where the qb gets a qb rating of less than 70.
And by that measure in his 5th year Stafford had 4 bad games.
Same as Goff in 2020.
