What a poor article...McVay "needs" his boy genius label kept intact? To go further with this idea...who gave him this label..Not McVay. Is this Sean saying this, or is this an idea in Florio's head that he states as a fact? Personally speaking I WANT the HC of my team fixated on his "to be" starting QB...I want him to have the most knowledge on the guy, the most feel for the guy on the planet. I want him to be so fixated on him that he knows his weaknesses, his strengths....his likes, his dislikes...inside and out, up and down.
Name me any coach in any sport who is not fixated on his players, those on the team, those incoming and those that come through trade, FA or draft.....Very weak in any real analyzing going on in that write up IMO. IMO you're trying way too hard to find flaws with a guy who simply leads this team, is proud to be in his position, and wants everyone to succeed that he is in direct relation with.....
"Boy Genius"....he didn't give himself that name, he doesn't mention it......it's the media who does that, by doing that it makes them feel like they are somewhat responsible for his rise IMO.....Have something over him so to speak....relish him with it at one time and crucify him with the same name when they feel the want/need.....gives them a sense of power when really all they do is talk, they have no real money in the pot like the players/coaches and others actually involved in the game itself.
