They got a guy who helped lead them to the SB....that's everyone's goal. They have been competitive with playoffs 3 out of 4 years. They rolled the dice on his contract, and it came out snake eyes. That is what happens when you get involved in this game. It could well have been he played lights out but had to leave the game from a terrible injury. I don't think you can say what they did was dumb, premature maybe, but for it to be dumb they would have to think he would maybe regress and then give him that contract. We all know that is not what they were thinking.
