How does it affect our cap situation for 2021 and beyond ?

January 31, 2021 12:32AM
As I stated I do not like this trade one bit.
You just dont give up a kings ransom for a 33 year old QB who has not won anything yet, who is similar in playing style to what you just traded away. Yes, Stafford has a much better arm than Goff and hopefully he is better in making his progressions and reads.
We will see.

If the Rams get salary cap relief out of this move and use the money on the top center in free agency and a deep threat (maybe that guy Galloday(?) who played with Stafford in DET) that would make the trade look a LOT better for the Rams.

Does anybody have the exact cap numbers for the Rams in the next couple years? How much does it bring us cap relief ?
And with the trade of Cooks and the release of Gurley last year the Rams should be in much better cap shape starting in 2022.
So we could make up the lost picks via signing top free agents.
If that is behind the Rams thinking in making this trade it would make a lot more sense.

Go RAms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting article. Thanx a lot! But as I read it we have less cap room for 2021 then before the trade
