What we do know is that McVay is constantly talking until the 15 second mark after the defense has set their alignment.
We also know is that offensive coaches are leaving quickly after getting there.
We don't know for sure how much control Goff has, but McVay is certainly trying to control a lot.
It was reported years ago that McVay was talking until the 15-second mark but is there any recent reports that is still the case?
Also, I'm not sure it's saying much even if he is talking up to that point. From what I understand that's pretty normal for whoever is calling the offense.
agree, it is rare these days that we even break the huddle until there is less than 10 seconds left on the play clock.....I'm always screaming hurry up!!!
I much prefer the uptempo offense that we rarely see anymore
So do I. Goff does really well with the up tempo. What I've wondered is, why do they go away from that after it was effective?
love McVay, but this is a thing that has bugged me about him sometimes....he has a tendency to stop doing things that work
I don't know if it was the Super Bowl affect where he thinks he has to completely scrap his offense and reinvent himself or what? but he sure has changed....the article hits on the point that he needs to get back to what works until it doesn't
But R2K, he changed because it had stopped working. The offense got exposed in the 2nd half of 2018 and that was emphatically driven home by the SB beat down.
I'm talking more about just some of the in game stuff and going away from the things like uptempo and feature back stuff that made us one of the best offenses.
Not every defense can replicate what the 2018 Patriots can do on defense.... it was more of the fact that he had no plan B for when plan A isn't working, still seems to have those issues from time to time
I think it is pretty clear that we are still a good offense, we just have consistency issues and usually it all starts up front....always has and always will....and that goes for the defense as well
