That was the reason the Rams decided to cut ties with Cooks. I still think it was the right decision when the Rams went that direction back last offseason.
But I also think that the Rams realized in 2020 that for their offense to get back to where it was in 17 and 18 they need a deep threat WR like cooks.
How they will get that kind of player however will be tough to achieve.
No first round pick and not much cap room. Maybe they can persuade Goff to restructure and free up some money.
