Now, those numbers show dramatic improvement when Morris took over the Defense.
I think McVay likes Morris for a few more reasons than just being our new DC. (if he is, where's the announcement?).
McVay wants him to be around for more than 1 season. Probably a little pissed that Staley left after only 1 year, and a successful one as well!
McVay worked with him, so he knows exactly what he's getting.
McVay is getting a veteran coach (ala Phillips) who will be just fine being our DC, no more aspirations to be HC again. So there's continuity!
McVay can bounce ideas back and forth with him...Talk all aspects like how to improve the Offense, ST's, ect...Experience in the league is very valuable.
Morris can bring in a few coaches, mix em' up with our coaches, new fresh blood, new ideas.
I like it!
