Rampage2K-
You be surprised how many times the number one defense doesn't win the Super Bowl or even make it there......more often than not....in fact it is rare
the 2005 Chicago Bears gave up 12.5 points a game...one and done in playoffs...the list is long with others who did the same
They have a tall task ahead going against number one offense in sub freezing weather with a QB who isn't exactly healthy, but I like our chances....
I asked how many teams have finished the season with the #1 defense in points allowed and yards allowed.NOT the #1 defense overall. Many teams have had the #1 defense overall but not in both categories of yards and points.
There is a big difference having both #1 in both of those categories.
Again.... don't crap on this McVay and Goff.
Like I've said 1000 times, football is the ultimate team sport, that's what makes it the greatest sport in the world ....pointing fingers at the QB and coach is always trendy, but it is the easy way out
so if the defense gives up 28 and the Rams score 24 it will be on Goff and McVay? Sounds like that is what you are saying already.
I think the most important defensive stat is points and there have been plenty of defenses that gave up less than 18.5 points a game that didn't make it to a Super Bowl
