I do agree that would apply...

to the deeper crossing routes.... but I don't agree that 'crossing routes take time to develop'. Not all anyway. In fact, a quick slant off the LOS is probably only 2nd in speed of execution to an immediate quick screen to an outside receiver. Both are one step drops. Using a quick slant as the safety valve is lightening quick as well... even if it develops into more than a 1, or even 3 step drop.
