I know on the one hand that DK Metcalf is a beast; big and fast. Every team who didn't draft him knew that.
But on the other hand, he seems to make his big splash plays mostly on Russ Wilson's out of system heroics.
DK Metcalf is not a good route runner and I doubt he ever becomes what he could be until 1) he can run disciplined routes and 2) harnesses his emotions. At this point, it is questionable if he can do either.
I post this because there's been some talk about how the Rams missed by taking Jefferson when they could have taken DK Metcalf. I'm not so sure about that. McVay requires intelligent, controlled, good route running, unselfish WRs. He's a fit for the Hawks because of Russ. Not sure who else he could fit with.
I get your point, but I don't agree that he can't run routes or not a good fit on other teams. He would be exactly what we need and players kind of take on the philosophy of the coaching staff and what they tolerate. Pete carroll is a good coach but to me isnt a discipline orientened coach.
