It’s what fans DO, y’all.
My position? It’s not that complicated, really.
Goff is the starting QB, when healthy. But he’s clearly not 100% right now. Who knows how healthy/ready he will be by next game?
Goff turned in a gutsy and very necessary effort today that, when combined with a dominating D performance, a helluva game by Akers, and timely ST plays was just enough to get the win.
We can and should celebrate Goff’s contributions today, but we should not kid ourselves for even a second. A much better passing game will be necessary if we even hope to beat either the Packers or the Saints.
Our D will be up for either team, no doubt. Frankly, I’m not sure that we can expect a better effort, even from these guys. And I hope that our ST can carry their share of the load.
So, McVay must decide just which of Goff or Wolford gives the Rams the best chance to win NEXT weekend. Not next September, but next weekend. Depending on how both QB’s look this week, I would not be surprised with either choice. I will support either QB that McVay chooses as I’m sure everyone else will.
Let’s be happy that Goff got the win and happy that Wolford apparently doesn’t have serious injury. And be happy that McVay will have a choice for this next game.
