Goffs broken thumb may actually help him.

December 28, 2020 03:36PM
For years now I have felt one of Goffs bigger issues is his hands are not that strong. I know he has smaller hands but I feel his lack of hand strength is a bigger factor for him. With this broken thumb he will be forced to do hand strengthening exercises.
This should help him grip the ball better without "over gripping". And by that I mean forcing a stronger grip than what is comfortable causing balls to be off the mark.

When you throw any sort of ball using a relaxed throwing motion is much more accurate of a throw. Goff has always been a natural thrower, but the last two years he has simply been off the mark too often for me to think that he simply forgot how to throw the ball.
