I don't like Marriota, Trubisky, or Dwayne Haskins. And I don't want to go through growing pains with a 2nd/3rd round rookie QB.
Tyrod Taylor will, at least, be smart with the ball. But I think he'll be 32 next season. Can't see him growing with McVay. Winston is just as turnover prone as Goff is.
Though he comes with his fair share of issues, I think Sam Darnold offers the best true competition for Goff. And if he were able to wrest the position from Goff, I think we could re-sign Darnold to a much more manageable "prove it again" contract than what you see other QB's getting on their 2nd deals. In turn, we'd try to unload Goff (and his contract) in trade.
We need to entertain these options as it's been clear to me for awhile that Goff can't take us to where we want to go.
If McVay and Snead can move on from an MVP player sooner rather than later, then they can do the same with Goff.
