I didn't mind cutting bait on Cooks due to his inability to stay healthy , but I thought they would try to replace his skill set in the draft or FA and it seems VJ isn't there yet or just doesn't actually have the speed they hoped for.
Greg Jennings pointed it out in the Niner game when he said "the Rams just don't have anyone that scares a defense"
it makes it much easier for a defense when there isn't anyone they fear to take the top off of it...McVay has changed the offense to compensate for it, but it just isn't explosive like it was when we had a health Cooks and a Watkins in 2017
We also have a had a hard time replacing Gurley when he was the best weapon in the NFL and OPY.....Hoping Cam can someday come close to what we had with Gurley in 2017-18, but he just isn't there yet and will never have Gurley's speed.
Doesn't mean we can't move the ball as we are still a top 8 in yards per game, we just don't have the elements that made us great like we were in 2017-2018
