I wasn't at all surprised that the Rams lost to the Niners.....twice. The Niners just know how to play the Rams the same way the Rams just know how to play the Seahawks and the Cards.
But the Jets is another matter. This is an NFL team. Hardly ever to we have a 0 -16 team. We've seen too much "On Any Given Sunday" to know that a strong team coming out flat and getting beat happens all the time. Not predicting it; just saying it is more than possible and McVay's confidence doesn't help me that much because his confidence is not the issue; the players' determination to take care of business and take their 0-12 opponent seriously does.
A couple of turnovers at the wrong time; a couple of refs calls at the wrong time; and an especially good effort by the Jets (like against the Raiders) and the Rams get another L.
... butI certainly don't expect "overconfidence" to be a factor. The Rams might suffer turnovers and bad ref calls that lead to a loss. That won't mean they were overconfident. They may come out flat. That doesn't mean they were overconfident; they came out flat against the Bills, too.
Truth is that the Rams have plenty of incentive to take care of business against the Jets. They want to win the division and stay ini the hunt for a top-2 seed. They ALSO don't want to suffer the humiliation of losing to an 0-13 team. I doubt effort will be an issue.
