I dont think confidence has anything to do with Goff trying to juke a db and getting stripped while holding the ball with one hand. Or when he tries to fit the ball into Woods who is tightly bracketed. Those are just brain dead plays.
I think we have an intelligence and intensity issue. Dude missed plays constantly. He locks on to primary reads--maybe this is McVay, but I bet Goff throws to his first read more than any non rookie QB. Then I fail to see urgency from the kid. This is more gray and harder to explain. But if you watch Mahomes and then Goff I think its evident.
Goff is too good to give up and too bad to win championships with.
