I don't think that's a very logical take. The Rams couldn't throw from the beginning today either so abandoning the run and going pass heavy didn't make any sense either.

McVay may not have called a perfect game but he didn't miss a wide open Henderson for a TD nor did he miss the 2 passes on the last drive that would have likely led to a FG attempt and win. McVay did plenty to put his team in a position to win.
