Each of the 3 units have shined at times and then embarrassed themselves at other times, haven’t they?
If McVay and his various assistants can get all 3 units consistently performing at anywhere near their respective ceilings then this team can be a force. The player talent is there in sufficient quantities, I think. But they’re still sputtering too much on O and ST.
And yet we are sporting a 5-3 record at the midpoint.
Ironically, I did not expect any sputtering on O this year. But here we are.
Speaking strictly for myself, I’m placing the majority of the responsibility for success on our coaches as we approach the playoff threshold. Not all of it, of course, but most of it.
It seems people are overrating to a bad loss(as usual) but taking a step back and looking at the big picture the Rams are still one of the most balanced teams in NFL
Yes, it's not the high flying offense in years past when we had perhaps the best offensive player in the league(Gurley) in his prime, but it is still a top 10 offenses and considering we played 5 of the top 13 defenses and Miami who is outside the top 13 in yards but 1st in scoring ...6 of our first 8 games have been against some of the NFL's best defenses and we've already played four East Cost games at 10 am....we are a @#$%& call away from being 6-2
This team is better than what most of the people on here are giving them credit for on this board.
A bad turnover and punt return ruined what probably would have been an easy win last week. Two plays!!!
They just need to stay focused and play with energy and they will beat most teams.... We were worried about the defense early in the year and now we have the
#1 defense in the NFL at the halfway mark.
Protect the QB, run the ball and play good defense and you will win most games...we can do all of those things
I just ignore the Goff hate, err critics who have no clue how lucky we are to have a young QB who has proven time and time again that we can win with.
They need to go back and look at modern day HOF'ers like Brady, Brees and Manning and compare the first five years to Goff...Goff is right there with all of them....heck, Brady didn't even have a season with over a 100 QB rating until his 8th year!!! He only two of them in his first 11 years....Goff had two of them in his first two years as day one starter. Spare me the whole notion that Goff has reached his ceiling or that's we need to cut him and move on crap...Not saying Goff is any of them, but he is definitely on the right path to becoming one of the best QB's us Rams fans have ever had. I posted the segment on here last week with Collin Cowherd talking about how hard it is to find a QB you can win with these days....Goff is 29-0 when leading at halftime since 2017 and I believe he is 2nd or 3rd in wins since 2017.
