Super smooth and deceptive, from the shoulders up it looks the same and that's no accident as I'm sure it's a key part of the offense they have worked on. But teams are simply assigning their edge to contain the boot and that rusher in his face mostly nullifies it.
McVay runs it mainly to check the edges from crashing in hard in addition to springing Goff into space. Some edge types are more susceptible to it (Bosa for example) due to their aggressiveness. It definitely gets diminished returns though when he runs it too much.
I think after the bye we will see more of Jefferson in place of Reynolds to help the offense improve in passing from the pocket. And we'll see more delayed releases from the running backs out of the offensive backfield underneath with more use of our matchup threats in Hendy and Akers.
Rams have to get better from the pocket in the passing game. Part of that is personnel IMO.
