Looking at the playoff picture, right now the Rams are the 7th seed. This loss could end up being the difference between the 5th seed (where they'd have likely gone to- and been favored in- Philadelphia) and being that 7th seed and going to Green Bay.. Big difference...
They have a tiebreaker over the Bears given the MNF win. They're also 5-1 in the conference which is a plus.
The way I see it even 9-7 likely gets them in IF one of the 4 wins is vs. San Francisco. Chicago is not going to finish better than 9-7 and again Rams have that tiebreaker. 10-6 could get them the 6th seed. 11-5
and sweeping Seattle is the only way to win the West or possibly get the 5th seed. And even then, maybe not.
McVay has to show them that their future is still very much in their hands. Having 5 of 8 at home and much less travel the rest of the way helps. But... they clearly have work to do. The Jets are the only gimme left on their schedule. New England could be but we saw yesterday how much Patriots' coaches know about the Rams' offense. Winning at Tampa would be a tall, tall task... But really, momentum starts (or not) with beating Seattle in two weeks. This weekend with SEA@BUF and ARZ facing MIA and BUF the next two games will be interesting to see play out.
