I understand that perspective. I suppose I think that- if we're talking about ILB specifically- we're really talking about run defense overall. And the hope has to be that Robinson is the addition coming to help there. With good interior DL play I'm fine with Kiser and Young there. If the team tackles the way they did Monday Night vs. the Bears their run defense will be much better overall.
Part of the reason the Rams are good at WR, TE and RB is the depth and I'd just rather not deal it away at this point. If they were looking at a 2nd or 3rd round pick in return, maybe.
I like that the Rams play the comp. picks game (similar to how the Ravens have done for years). It's a good way to backfill and net value from FAs walking. The cap will be tighter in 2021 and 2022 for them so the value of good draft picks goes up that much more.
