Two things, really.
First is congrats to Staley for adjusting to previous weak pressure from the edge by dialing up blitzes AND (finally) rotating players more aggressively in Ebu’s spot. Gotta respect a DC that adjusts when obviously necessary.
Second, congrats to Obo, Polite, Hollins, and now Lewis for showing up, even if somewhat modestly, when given snaps in Ebu’s spot. For the first time this year, I now feel a bit optimistic that that edge could possibly be upgraded to at least adequate status, and maybe a good deal more. If so, I see no reason to deny the Rams a legit possibility of a deep playoff run. Maybe even a SB, because I think that the rest of this Staley D is just getting warmed up.
