First: He was supposed to be a defensive guru and the words Falcons and Defense haven't belong in the same sentence for a long time.

Second: The Falcons haven't been a good team for quite some time. Of course, I'm not sure it is ever a good idea to fire an HC in the middle of season. Because then the dreaded Interim Coach enters into the equation.
