As a starting kicker in the NFL his performance after 3 games is about a D. I mean, he *could* be doing worse, but not by much. He's doing as poor a job kicking as Coop its with punt returns.
When they lined up for that FG try... let's just say that I would have been much more surprised by a make than I did by the miss. That fact that it's far from obvious that Sloman should be in that position to begin with doesn't help.
Honest to goodness: it's the NFL. A LOT of games are close, one-possession games. 2 of 3 games Rams have played so far have been one-possession games. Can't afford bad special teams play. Hekker's the *only* part of the Rams' special teams' play we have reason to feel any confidence in right now.
