Small quibble: the only poor return I remember was called back because the would-be tackler was held. IOW, the penalty absolutely instrumental to the long return rather than incidental. Even so, as you say, not a great day by ST, for sure. Even Hekker's punt from 39 or 40 bounced into the end zone, so the net was 19 yds. Bad day.
Goff definitely passes well off the rollout, especially to his right. But, of course, that limits his targets, and when there's a defender bearing down on him quickly it can get pretty hairy.
