My best Rams fan"looking ahead lesson" came personally from Henry Ellard

While in the USAF, me and two buds traveled from Blytheville, Ark to Dallas, in Dec 1989, to see the Rams play the Cowboys. Dallas was REALLY down that year. I assumed it would be a fairly easy win. Before the game, I spotted Ellard in street clothes. I think his hammie was screw up. The Gameday program (REALLY miss those) had, of all people, ELLARD on the cover!! He came over and signed mine. As he was signing, I said...."You guys just HAVE to get the Niners next week!! Ellard replied...."No. We need to get the Cowboys this week." Well.........That Cowboy game was SCAAAAAAARY!!! Rams trailed 31 to 21 with about 4 min left but came back to win 35 to 31. The game ended with Dallas close to scoring. Earlier, rookie Aikman used a play signal that looked like a call for a Timeout. SOOO glad Dallas did not have that one more T.O. when time ran out. The next week........The HEARTBREAKER in Anaheim! UUUUGH!!!!!!!!! In seconds, we went from a probable TD (Doug Smith's hand sliding off the ball) to John Taylor going coast to coast after two missed tackles!!!

Any time I look ahead, 1989 comes to mind.

I know it's not good to look ahead but.......... I'm more concerned about Buffalo.
