sometimes the pundits really are stupid

September 17, 2020 09:41AM
The fact that guys like that are stupid became an undeniable fact to me when I was listening to Tony Kornheiser on the radio years ago, and it came to light that he didn't know which teams in the NFL were in which divisions. Someone who is supposedly a pundit should know such facts.

Another favorite example, which is also a recurring example, is the NFL announcer who questions the use of a timeout, claiming that it should be saved until the end so that the team can get their kicker onto the field in the last few seconds. Such announcers are too stupid to do the math and realize that such an opportunity won't happen if you don't use the timeouts right away to prevent the other team from running time off the clock.
