I think Higbee is a better athlete than Everett

He bigger, taller, faster, of course that doesn’t mean Everett isn’t a good athlete of course he is but IMO Higbee is the one that startles

That being said Everett simply needs to stay healthy and have opportunities to show what he’s got. I am convinced in another offense without so many options and where he would be a focal point he would emerge

Higbee is definitely taller and bigger, but ....better athlete? Not a lot of measurables for Higbee, who was hurt for his Pro Day, but the info we can compare them on pretty clearly points to Everett as the better athlete.

Speed: Higbee (4.67 best 40) vs. Everett (4.56 best 40).

Strength: 18 reps at 225 for Higbee, 22 reps at 225 for Everett.

Maybe Higbee is the stronger player now, functionally, a few years in. Certainly, he's the better blocker. But the question was who's the better athlete, and the available evidence suggests that Everett is stronger and faster, which seem like the athletic basics.

Then, consider that coming out of college Everett's calling card was precisely his athleticism. Look at these numbers and percentiles for Everett. Very good agility, 40-yd time, and catch radius. Elite "burst." I see no reason to think Higbee would have matched those numbers, much less surpassed them, had he been able to go thru the drills?

Look at this tape.

Higbee has had the more startling results, and seems to be the better all-around player, but he's not the athlete that Gerald Everett is. And Everett has certainly *startled* at times. Had the situation been reversed I think Everett would have done as well or better as the featured pass-catching tight end. It's in that role that his skills and talents would shine. I hope het gets that chance this time around.

I think Everett is one of the best TE RAC runners in the NFL.
