That's something I believe. So having managers (which is what coaches sort of are) who are not yes-men, but who will instead tell you the truth no matter your inclination to listen or mood or whatever, is extremely valuable to me at least. From that perspective as well as the on-field product we saw in 2019 (which had dropoff in gameplanning quality on top of the OL issues IMO) it's pretty clear that losing LaFleur to the Packers was a big loss.
And one thing that really irks me is the way the Rams were picked over when some other really good staffs were not over the past few years. I felt like Jim Schwartz put together one of the finest seasons for a defensive coordinator in years when the Eagles won it all but he didn't get hired away. Same thing with McDaniels in multiple seasons of late, where he squeezed production out of a unit that had a serious lack of talent at WR. And last year the 9ers somehow got away with their staff intact. Kind of irritating tbh.
