I've been a Rams fan since 1970 and betting on rose bowls when I was 8 in the 60's so I have seen just about everything. I don't know anyone close that was into football more than me. I would wait up all night reading the Gameplan College Football magazine the night of the the draft in the early 70's waiting for the morning paper to deliver draft results because that is all we had back in the day. When I was saddled with chores on Sunday I would always listen to the Rams game from a globe AZ station that was so staticy, but did it religiously for years when the rams were not on tv. I've seen every NFL draft that has been televised. Every one, and yes I took off work for the draft on Mondays in the early 80's when it was first televised on ESPN. More dedicated than anyone I know. Played and coached. Hell, when my mother died I scheduled her funeral on a monday instead of a sunday to watch the rams play. Nobody, I mean nobody comes close to AD controlling a game. The guy is in the backfield at least a 1/3 of the time. I used to watch Jackie Slater take on LT and that guy disappeared when he played us. We gameplanned him completely out of most games I watched, which was every one. @#$%& I am so dedicated that I have seen practically all their preseason games as well. To produce the numbers he does from inside is unheard of. The guy is a freak and I have never seen anyone like him. 6-1 265-280 who runs 4.68 forty and benches over 500 lbs. Maybe faster after all the training and lost weight he has done as a pro. There has been nobody close. I 've seen Bob Lilly, Merlin Olsen, Deacon, Mean Joe, Reggie, Bruce Smith, Alan Page, Jack Younglood, LT, and on and on. All the greats. None of those people come close to what AD does game in and game out. The guy is simply a freak that we will never see again. Cherrish that he is on our side and that you are able to see someone who is a man amongst boys. The only guy I would compare him to is Jim Brown, who was truly a man among boys with the way he threw everyone to the side when he was running back in the day. We have another 4-5 years until he starts declining so truly cherish this because I know I will never see another AD in my lifetime.
