My most fun year, not really my favorite, was '99...

big surprise there, huh? Yes, the SB... OF COURSE... but that wasn't the 'fun' I'm referring to in this post.

I can never remember before, or since, being absolutely convinced that on any 3rd down... NO MATTER THE DISTANCE TO GO, the Rams would convert. Obviously they did NOT convert every 3rd down... but it sure 'felt' like they did... and when they didn't it felt, to me, like a rare exception.

A pessimist by nature that was the only entire season I can ever remember in which my confidence was simply "OFF THE CHARTS". My confidence remained somewhat the following year, and the next, but it never matched that confidence level I held in '99.

I can remember a call to my son after about the 3rd game of '99, and I can remember it almost perfectly... this ain't paraphrased much, if at all -

"YEs, they are THAT good this year, at least so far. You have to watch a game (My son was never a big football fan). This is new, something different, they look invincible".
