For the most part, the Rams have been known more for their defenses than their offenses. Granted, there are a few exceptions – like the Greatest Show on Turf days, for example – but the Rams have had some ferocious defenses in their history.

They’ve been led by stout defensive lines and outstanding pass rushers, including the likes of Aaron Donald, Jack Youngblood, Deacon Jones and Merlin Olsen.

While sacks are an important statistic, it’s not a perfect way to gauge a pass-rushers impact. And it also became an official stat in 1982, so players from the ’70s and earlier don’t have any sacks to their name.
