joint practices have become more valuable than preseason

I think those stints vs. other teams are hugely valuable, more so than preseason games. You get extended reps for your starters and backups in position drills, controlled scrimmage environments, situational drills, etc. I've felt for a while that preseason should be two games plus two controlled scrimmages vs. other teams. I'd pay to go to those as much or more than standard preseason games. Would be more interesting.
