I don't expect a top-5 OL. Or top-10. But also don't expect a bottom 5-10 unit either. And really, if they're somewhere in the middle (15th-ish) that just might be good enough.

A 15th-ish OL ranking is concerning to me. I don't believe we have the QB that thrives in those conditions. To get good things out of Goff, he has to be kept clean and I don't know if a middle of the pack OL can do that. I think we have to hope, or at least I am, that they have the pieces for a top-10 OL.

None of the individual parts seem destined for above-average but it looks like all of them can be at least average. If they are, and if they work well together, and stay healthy, maybe the whole can be greater than the sum of its parts.

Disagree. I think Goff can do well with that kind of solid, middle of the pack OL. I think he already has, though it was a brief glimpse. The OL in the last 3 games was ranked 16th (got that from a post on here). How did Goff do in the final 3 games? Which includes a bad Rams game against Dallas but it includes a good one against SF (except for the D in the final minutes).

Goff in those games: 62.6% completions, 7 TDs, 2 INTs, 92.4 qb rating. That's not bad. It's not 2017-18 but it's not bad. And that's without a running game and him throwing an avg. of 47.3 times a game.

He was pressured 24 times in those games, including 11 against SF.

In terms of Goff as a qb under pressure, PFF ranked him 14th.

Another stat source ranked him 13th.

That info is here: [ramsrule.com]

Three games offers just a hint or suggestion BUT it also corresponds with what I have seen from him.

...

The 62.6% completions, 7 TDs, 2 INTs, 92.4 qb rating line is not bad. It's average. If that's what he did over the full 2019 season, he would have been ranked 14th in QB rating.

I don't call that thriving. I call that merely ok. But not enough to win. I feel we need better than a middle tier QB to be a contender.
