This sense that you can't change the horns at all is ridiculous. They have indeed changed over the course of the team's history. Most here wanted fatter horns at the top and we actually got that. The line isn't that bad IMO and it gives a 3d type feel and the best part about it is the point (without a curl) looks great.
I'm just irritated with the shoulders. Feel like they took a step back without the horn curl around the numbers, it makes zero sense to change because now the half-horn on the shoulders looks like a McDonalds arch not to mention the numbers being replaced by a nike emblem.
And the yellow stripe on the bone pants missed the mark IMO, blue would have made the uniform as a whole look better. But either way both shoulders are downgrades to my eye at least.
Down the road this current helmet will be considered an iconic change. A good change. Mark my words. We are going to have the best helmet in the league still, just not the best home uniform any longer.
The problem with this line of thought, which I completely disagree with, is that they specifically DID change from a horn. They got rid of the horn. They went with the Fibonacci sequence. Those are NOT horns on the helmet now. They are waves and spirals and the LA lifestyle that happen to sort of resemble the horns. The Rams have repeatedly and proudly said their designs aren't about Rams.
There is a huge difference in the horns changing widths over time and literally going with something that isn't a horn.
So, our forward thinking, cutting edge approach is to go with a mathematical sequence from the 13th century? To go with uniform numbers that have been hideously displayed and used by the Pro Bowl? To steal a logo from a small college?
Frankly, all the rationalizing going on to try and see these uniforms as anything other than an eyesore and complete failure of the front office is disgusting.
