man that game was such a big deal
that season the Rams really struggled ... just devastated by injuries...but managed to hold on and get to the playoffs
and then they beat the Cowboys in the playoffs... of all the years!!! lol crazy
that game was spectacular... I couldn't even be upset even at that age... I was like "they held their own" I'm proud of them
The 1980 team was much better and lost in the first round of the playoffs at home to Dallas... two weeks before beating them up really good
man o' man I love my Rams but they have put us through some tough losses for sure
Yes they have. 1986 they had a couple of real heartbreakers. The Hail Mary pass against the Patriots. How does something like that happen? And it was tipped. That was a killer. Then the game against Dan Marino and the Dolphins we lost in OT. 1990 we had the OT loss against the Bengals. Yes, we've had some tough tough losses, but it goes with the territory of being a fan.
))))
Those two games you mentioned were soul crushers for sure. I think it's interesting that the Patriot and Dolphin games were kind of random games with not a whole lot on the line. They weren't playoff games at least. They are forever etched into our memory banks. There must be a correlation between being of a young age and the pain that it brought on. Those games and the Buffalo comeback led by Frank Reich were nightmarish.
There have been some recent games the Rams have blown but why dont they stick out as profoundly painful? My guess is once you get older you find other ways to deflect the pain away.
When your a young age, The Rams take center stage a lot more, thus, those horrible experiences tend to stay with you a lot longer.
